Vestas restarts Thai turbines
Danes had shutdown 59 machines after nacelle and blade fell from 60th unit

Danish turbine manufacturer Vestas is restarting turbines at is 60-turbine KRS Three and Tropical wind farms in Thailand (See Thai wind turbine failure sparks Vestas probe).
The nacelle and blades of a single V136 crashed to the ground at the project on 30 October; tower components were not involved in the incident at the 180MW projects.
A spokesman said: “Based on the available information this looks to be an isolated case.” He added that until further findings are available Vestas could not comment or speculate on the root cause.
The remaining 59 machines were turned off as a precautionary measure in the immediate wake of the failure but “Vestas now believes it is safe to restart”.
No one was injured during the incident at the Wind Energy Holdings projects, which were recently completed and commissioned.
