Thai fabricator Cuel signs Formosa deal
Jan De Nul orders 20 transition pieces for Taiwan offshore project

Thai company Cuel has signed a contract with marine contractor Jan De Nul for the fabrication and supply of 20 transition pieces for the 120MW Formosa offshore wind project in Taiwan.
The contract marks a first for the company which has worked primarily in the oil and gas industry.
Construction work will take place at Cuel’s Laem Chabang yard in Thailand and is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2019.
Jan De Nul holds a contract for the design, procurement and installation of the turbine foundations at Formosa.
The project, which is being developed by Orsted, Swancor and Macquarie, will feature 20 Siemens Gamesa turbines.
