Thai cabinet gives green light for construction of 5th Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge
Linking Bueng Kan Province of Thailand to Pakxan town in Bolikhamxai Province of Laos.

The Thai Cabinet on Tuesday gave the nod to the construction of the fifth Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge, linking Bueng Kan Province of Thailand to Pakxan town in Bolikhamxai Province of Laos.
The bridge, with a cost of 2.6 billion baht (83 million U.S. dollars), is to improve and provide logistic and economic convenience between the two countries.
The Cabinet has assigned the Highway Department to take charge of the project.
According to the Thai government official website, the Lao government has lodged financial support request to Thailand’s Neighboring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency, however the amount of financial support had not been revealed.
The project is expected to be completed in 2022.
