Bang Buathong site sought for big plant
The property developer Pruksa Real Estate Plc (PS) is looking for a large piece of land in the Bang Buathong area for a new precast concrete factory in the next two years, according to Jutha Promchinwong, the company’s deputy managing director.
It wants a plot of around 200 rai while the investment would be around one billion baht, a similar figure to its earlier investments to construct two new precast concrete factories to serve its own rising demand.
The company currently owns five precast concrete factories, located in the Lam Luk Ka area, with a total production capacity of up to 700 residential units a month or 8,400 a year.
When the new planned investment materialises, Pruksa will be able to double its construction capacity to around 16,800 units annually.
The expansion will be in line with its target for sales to reach 50 billion baht or 16,000 units next year, up from 40 billion baht from 15,000 units this year, representing a 25% improvement from 2010. So far, it has achieved 20 billion baht in sales and is confident it can meet the target.
Pruksa aims to generate total sales of 100 billion baht in 2017, of which 75% would be from the local market – spurred by provincial destinations – and the rest from projects abroad.
One of the company’s latest plants is equipped with a fixed-mould system which is used in the manufacturing of load-bearing walls for condominiums, at up to 320 units a month, and townhouse facades at up to 900 units.
Another factory has a fully automated carousel system capable of producing bearing up to 105,000 square metres of walls, enough for approximately 440 units per month.
Chief executive officer Thongma Vijitpongpun said Pruksa strove to continuously improve its construction technologies in order to retain total customer satisfaction.
“We have now succeeded in developing a Total Precast System, a proven new way to construct condominium buildings using our precast concrete in every process,” he said.
Condominium buildings built with the technology are internationally accredited to withstand the force of earthquakes measuring up to 7.0 on the Richter scale.
Currently, Pruksa projects being built with the Total Precast System include The Tree Lat Phrao, be you Chokchai 4, and 624 Condolette Lat Phrao, said Mr Thongma.
