July 22 (SeeNews) – Thai project management and engineering firm Modern Energy Management Co Ltd (MEM) said today it has won jobs on three wind projects at home with a combined capacity of 170 MW.
MEM announced it has successfully completed its role as Owner’s Representative for the development of the 60-MW Wayu wind farm in Nakhon Ratchasima province and has subsequently been appointed Owner’s Engineer for the project. The new role calls for MEM to provide on-site construction project management and engineering support services.
The project, to be finalised in 2016, is developed by Wind Energy Development Co Ltd, a subsidiary of Thai group Gunkul Engineering PCL (BKK:GUNKUL).
Moreover, Greenovation Power Co Ltd and Korat Wind Co Ltd, two other units of Gunkul, have selected MEM to act as Owner’s Representative for two other wind projects in the same province of 60 MW and 50 MW, respectively. MEM will be offering advisory services on contract structure, working on project tenders and providing project management services related to the financial close process.
Currently, Thailand has one operational utility-scale wind complex totalling 270 MW.
