McConnell Dowell wins EPC contract (EPC) works for new pump station and raw water pipeline at Thai Oil’s Sriracha Refinery
McConnell Dowell will conduct engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) works for a new pump station and raw water pipeline in Thailand.
Thai Oil Public Company Limited enlisted McConnell Dowell for the new Bang Phra raw water line and pump station, which will help increase raw water supply at Thai Oil’s Sriracha Refinery.
The new pump station and pipeline will provide more than 4,000 m3/h of raw water and replace the existing system.
McConnell Dowell Managing Director South East Asia Tom Dockray said the contract builds on the company’s relationship with Thai Oil, having completed construction of the 4 km 36 inch (914 mm) pipeline in Sriracha last year.
“Through early engagement with the team we were able to understand the key drivers for the project and provide a technically robust and efficient solution,” said Mr Dockray.
“The multidisciplinary nature of project has allowed McConnell Dowell to combine the group’s global experience with its knowledge of the local region.
“The marine and civil works associated with the pier and cofferdam is also an opportunity for McConnell Dowell to further build the in-country expertise and capabilities.”
Works have already commenced onsite and are due for completion at the end of 2021.
