October 15 (SeeNews) – German downstream solar firm Conergy said on Thursday that it has signed contracts for 231 MWp of photovoltaic (PV) power capacity in Southeast Asia over the past three months, most of which will be installed in the Philippines.
Together with its existing projects in Southeast Asia, Conergy expects to complete 400 MW in the region by the first quarter of 2016, it said in a press release.
In the Philippines, the company has contracts for over 200 MWp, including 62 MWp in Negros Island, 50 MWp in Tarlac, 13 MWp in Pampanga, 18 MWp in Bais Negros, 15 MWp in Bulacan and 43 MWp at two sites in Luzon and Visayas. The largest Philippine order was made by Negros Island Solar Power and calls for the construction of one 48-MWp plant and an additional 14-MWp facility.
As previously announced, the company will also build an 8-MW solar park in Thailand’s Sa Kaeo province for B Grimm Power Ltd and install a further 19 MW in Prachinburi province for Symbior Solar. In addition, it will deploy three 1-MW solar arrays in the East Nusa Tenggara province of Indonesia.
“Southeast Asia is an ideal location for solar because of their year-round sunshine and abundance of space that is suitable for solar,” commented CEO Andrew de Pass.
