Bangkok’s Bueng Nong Bon drainage tunnel is 90% complete
The Bangkok Governor has inspected the progress of the Bueng Nong Bon drainage tunnel that is 9km long and five meters wide. It is 90% finished and should be in service by early next year.

The Department of Drainage and Sewerage, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, assigned TEAM GROUP to perform project management, and construction supervision of a 5-m-diameter drainage tunnel with a total length of 9.40 km. Covering an area of 85 sq.km., the project aims to help drain water in the eastern part of Bangkok to the Chao Phraya River so as to alleviate flooding problems in the districts of Prawet, Suan Luang, Bang Na, and Phra Khanong as well as nearby areas. The tunnel runs from Nong Bon Swamp passing beneath Nong Bon Canal, Ta Chang Canal, Srinagarindra Road, Udom Suk Road, Sukhumvit 101/1, and Bang O Canal and terminates at the location of Thai Plywood Co., Ltd.
