A new Bangkok based hotel management group Young Star Hotels and Resorts is rolling out four midscale properties in Thailand.
Well known hotelier Claude Scheffer has been recruited as Managing Director.
The 80 key Star Hotel in Chiang Mai is under renovation and will be relaunched in August. An additional 160 rooms will be added to what will be a 240 key property.
In Bangkok on Sukhumvit Soi 3 the 147 room Young Star will soft open in June. While in Silom a four star 300 room hotel called the Young Star Elite will see half of the project open in October and the full inventory by January 2013.
While in the north of the country, a 60 villa resort in Mae Hong Son on the banks of the Ping River will debut in the last quarter of this year.
According to Scheffer the group is currently looking at expansion opportunities in Phuket, Pattaya and eventually further in the region.
