Luxury Phuket resort collects ‘Best Design Spa’ and Best Design Suite’ in Design et al International Hotel and Property Awards 2011, and announces new Pool & Spa Villas
Leading Luxury Phuket resort Indigo Pearl has yet again received the honor of two major accolades for its unique design concept inspired by the island’s ancient tin mining industry; one for its new Garden of Eden-style spa and one for its designer suites.
Coqoon Spa, which opened earlier this year, has been awarded as ‘Best Design Spa’ in the prestigious International Hotel & Property Awards 2011, held in Monaco and hosted by leading UK-based interior design magazines Luxe et al and design et al.
Indigo Pearl was also honoured with the “Best Design Suites” award for its luxurious-chic accommodations, including designer Pearl Bed Suites, recently conceptualized D-Buk Suites, the Pool Pavilions, and the seven individually styled Pearl Shell Suites.
With online voting by readers, the annual international Luxe et al awards recognise “design beacons that inspire us…but more than that…inspire our senses from a design perspective.”
This represents the third award Indigo Pearl has won this year for its unique design and is a further demonstration of the consistent success of the home-grown Phuket-based luxury resort.
The designer suites and cutting edge Coqoon Spa are the work of leading designer Bill Bensley who is best known for his holistic approach of integrating structures with nature while embracing local art forms. He says his philosophy aligns with the Indonesian phrase lebih gila, lebih biak, which means ‘the more odd, the better’.
Aligned onto its commitment for continuous improvement, and following the opening of Coqoon Spa, Indigo Pearl has announced a multi-million dollar aesthetic transformation in partnership with Bensley Design Studios to become an ‘all suite and villa’ property. Bill Bensley is already working on the resort’s next stage of development with a number of exclusive Pool & Spa Villas ranging from 550 to 2,500 square metres set to open by fall 2011.
The acclaimed 5-star Indigo Pearl is a fusion of modern architecture and Thai tin-mining heritage, nestled along picturesque Nai Yang Beach, just 10 minutes from Phuket International Airport. It has been hailed as a design masterpiece by global media publications and boasts easy access with direct flights to Phuket from almost everywhere in Asia.
