Hilton to open hotel in Yangon with new local partner Crown Advanced Construction

Hilton Worldwide Holdings Inc recently signed an agreement with new local partner Crown Advanced Construction Co to operate a 308-room hotel in Yangon under the name Hilton Times City.
The opening of the new hotel is scheduled for 2022.
“As the commercial and financial capital of the country Yangon holds much of the potential for growth. We are delighted to be bringing our Hilton brand into Myanmar’s largest city to cater to a projected travel boom,” Paul Hutton, Hilton Worldwide vice president of operations for South Asia, said in a statement.
Hilton Worldwide has been in a partnership with Eden Group Co Ltd in Myanmar since 2014 and they are currently operating three Hilton hotels in the country: Hilton Nay Pyi Taw, Hilton Ngapali Resorts and Spa and Hilton Mandalay.
The Eden Group is also set to open two more Hilton hotels in the ancient city of Bagan and and in Inle Lake in Shan State, with an estimated US$100 million (K151.91 billion) investment, U Chit Khine, chair of Eden Group told The Myanmar Times in a previous interview.
“We are delighted to have found a great partner in Hilton to build and operate our first hotel and we are confident that it will be one of the most highly sought after accommodation venues for any traveler coming into the city,” U Myat Min, project Director of Crown Advanced Construction said.
The Hilton Times City will be built as part of a K400 billion mixed-use development in central Yangon called Times City.
As part of the mixed-use development, the hotel will feature suites and a serviced apartment and sit alongside an office tower, high end residential tower and a retail mall located between Yangon International Airport and the central business district.
The hotel will be strategically located between the airport and the central business district, a short 20-minute drive from the airport and 15-minute drive from downtown Yangon.
“It is an exciting time to be expanding our footprint in Myanmar, with an optimistic outlook for inbound tourism and the country expected to receive 7.5 million tourists by 2020,” Hutton said.
“We are confident Hilton Times City Yangon will be a major attraction for leisure and business travellers alike, whether they are passing through or visiting Yangon.”
Hilton Times City Yangon will feature five dining outlets, including an all-day dining restaurant, one specialty restaurant, two bars and a Grab and Go outlet.
Guests can hold meetings and events at the hotel’s event spaces spanning nearly 1,250 square metres, including a ballroom of over 550 square metres.
Other facilities the hotel will offer include a business centre, a fitness centre and a spa, as well as a pool for guests to work out and unwind.
