Britain’s second class pensioners
The paper (accessible via the link below) was prepared by the International Consortium of British Pensioners (ICBP). Its primary purpose is to provide an overview of the plight of Britain’s Second Class Pensioners who have decided to live overseas during their retirement but find that their State Pensions are frozen by the British government based solely upon where they decided to live (e.g. Thailand).

It is a version of a speech given to the Pensioners Parliament in Blackpool on 14th June 2011 by Tony Bockman, ICBP Chairman. It was edited with the approval of Mr Bockman by Clive Evans on behalf of the Royal British Legion Chonburi Branch.
British passport renewals – reply from British government
On 12th July the Chairman of Britain in South East Asia (BISEA) wrote to British Prime Minister David Cameron concerning the time taken for British Passport holders in Asia to renew their passports.
The BISEA Chairman’s letter was communicated to BCCT members by email on 3rd August and appears in the August/September issue of The Brief magazine. It is also available at the link below. BISEA has recently received a reply from Minister for Immigration at the Home Office, Damian Green, which may be viewed at the same link:-

The issue and any possible constructive follow-up will be discussed at the next BISEA Conference in Phnom Penh on 13th and 14th October. In the meantime BCCT will consult with the British Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong which very recently raised this issue with Business Secretary Vince Cable during a visit to UK.
